Life's Surprises

Sometimes life's little surprises make all the difference.  Lizeth keeps running into people who speak fluent Spanish and she happily engages.  Jesse has on two occasions been able to communicate with people from Uzbekistan.  The look of joy on his face is priceless.  He also was a good sport as he attended a Tai chi class with a new friend.  Sarah ended up hanging with the four adults on a trip to the Beijing zoo and we loved her enthusiasm.  We sang 10,000 Reasons at a college fellowship service. Yours truly decided to let the congregation sing along  - which was a great idea -  except that our choral ending was different.  Whoops!

In Xi'an some of us posed as warriors.  (These young adults are great Warriors for Christ.) And we visited the famous terra cotta soldiers buried with the Emperor for protection in the afterlife.  We walked the Muslim quarter, heard about the work with minority peoples and enjoyed fabulous meals.

Our time in Kunming was wonderful.  We toured a minority village tourist attraction - SO many people groups to reach.   Students taught Sunday School and helped out in at the Kunming International School all day Monday.  Amber taught music with me.  She connected very well with all the little ones.  We also celebrated Doc Easterling's birthday with a gift and fantastic cake.  Our time in China ended with debriefing and a time of prayer for our new friends.

Now we are being trained for the next adventure - as teachers of English in one of the best English schools in Thailand - Santisuk.   Pray that we represent Jesus well.
